Stadium:
Madison Square Garden
Madison Square Garden, often abbreviated as MSG, known colloquially simply as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City, United States. It is also the name of the entity which owns the arena and several of the professional sports franchises which play there. There have been four incarnations of the arena. The first two were located at the Northeast corner of Madison Square (Madison Ave. & 26th St.) from which the arena derived its name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station. The present arena is informally known to some by the advertising slogan "The World's Most Famous Arena". The arena lends its name to the Madison Square Garden Network, a cable television network that broadcasts most sporting events that are held in the Garden, as well as concerts and entertainment events that have taken place at the venue.

Season Preview:
Guards Avery Patterson and Ricky Torres will transfer from St. John's following the spring semester, Red Storm coach Norm Roberts said Wednesday. Patterson played one season with St. John's after transferring from Iowa Western Community College. He played in every game for the Red Storm (16-15) this season, starting 27. He was the third on the team in scoring with a 10.4 average and led St. John's with 72 3-pointers, shooting 32.7 percent from beyond the arc. "I enjoyed my time at St. John's. It just didn't work out the way that we all would have liked," Patterson said. "I enjoyed playing with my team, and I wish them luck in the future." Torres, a highly recruited player from St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, played two seasons for St. John's. He was in 27 games last season and averaged 2.2 points. "I am grateful for the opportunity I've had to play at St. John's for two seasons," Torres said. "I wish my teammates good luck moving forward as I head into a new situation, hopefully where I play a bigger role."
