Stadium:
Alexander Memorial Coliseum
The Alexander Memorial Coliseum (also nicknamed The Thrillerdome) is an indoor arena located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the home of the basketball teams of Georgia Tech and hosted the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA from 1968–1972 and again from 1997–1999. Tech's women's volleyball team occasionally uses the facility as well, primarily for NCAA tournament games and other matches that draw crowds that would overflow the O'Keefe Gymnasium.

Team History:
Georgia Tech features a strong and popular basketball program. The team plays its home games in Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Under the tenure of Bobby Cremins Georgia Tech established itself as a national force in basketball. Bobby Cremins led his team to the first ACC tournament victory in school history in 1985 and in 1990 he took Georgia Tech to the school's first Final Four appearance ever. Cremins retired from Georgia Tech in 2000 with the school's best coaching win percentage. Paul Hewitt is the current head for Georgia Tech. He helped to revitalize a stagnant program and Georgia Tech experienced a Cinderella Season in 2004, earning the school's second ever berth in a National Title Game in any sport. The 2003-2004 team won the Pre-Season NIT tournament, ended Duke's 41 game home-winning streak, and finished its season losing by only 9 points in the National Title game to UCONN.

Season Preview:
Georgia Tech freshman Thaddeus Young has decided to stay in the 2007 NBA draft. Young, a 6-foot-8 forward who was a standout freshman last season, on Monday called his experience at Georgia Tech "one of the most memorable times" of his life. "I fully understand that if I were to return to Tech, next year I would possibly be drafted as high as one, two or three, which would mean a lot more money,'' Young said. "Nevertheless, I believe that I should begin my chosen profession at this time and not consider money alone." The move is expected as Young is projected by most NBA teams as a Top 15 pick. Last week Young was invited by the NBA to sit in the Green Room, a good sign that he'd go in the top half of the draft. He joins teammate Javaris Crittenton, another freshman who decided to bolt Georgia Tech after one year.
