Bud Walton Arena
Bud Walton Arena (also known as "Basketball Palace of Mid-America") is the home to the men's and women's basketball teams of the University of Arkansas, known as the Razorbacks (men) and Lady Razorbacks (women). It is located on the campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas and has a seating capacity of 19,200, fifth largest for an on-campus arena in the country. The arena has been the home to the Razorbacks and Ladybacks since November of 1993; the men's team won the national championship in the arena's first season of operation. The previous arena in which both teams played, Barnhill Arena, was renovated into a volleyball-specific facility and now houses the Lady Razorbacks volleyball team. Bud Walton Arena has more seats in less space than in any other facility of the same type anywhere in the world.

Team History:
The Arkansas Razorbacks basketball team represents the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas in NCAA Division I men's basketball competition. The school's team currently competes in the Southeastern Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2007. The Razorbacks are currently coached by John Pelphrey. Please note that the nickname "Razorbacks" is exclusive to men's teams and athletes at the school. Arkansas is one of a very small number of universities in the United States that operates completely separate men's and women's athletic departments. Women's teams at the school are formally nicknamed "Lady Razorbacks", but the short form of Lady'Backs is more widely used. The basketball team plays its home games in Bud Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas campus. The Hogs under the coaching leadership of Nolan Richardson won the NCAA tournament in 1994 defeating Duke University, and appeared in the championship game the following year, but were beaten by UCLA. The Razorbacks have been to NCAA Final Four in 1941, 1945, 1978, 1990, 1994 and 1995.

Season Preview:
While it's always possible Arkansas coach Houston Nutt's critics have created a sense of havoc and uncertainty that could hurt the Razorbacks this season, it's also possible those critics may have done a lot more to help Nutt, his coaches and his players than they could possibly imagine. A team without leaders or a sense of direction might buckle under the weight of rumors and controversy. A team with leaders and the experience and confidence that comes from winning the SEC Western Division championship might just pull together like never before and decide it's "us against the world." That's what appears to be happening at Arkansas after several months of bombardment that had little to do with anything happening on the practice field or in the weight room.
