Stadium:
Wells Fargo Arena
Wells Fargo Arena is a 14,198-seat multi-purpose arena in Tempe, Arizona, USA. The arena opened in 1974 at a cost of $8 million. It is home to the Arizona State University Sun Devils basketball team. It hosted the 1990 Pacific Ten Conference men's basketball tournament.

Team History:
Herb Sendek is the current head coach of the Sun Devils. Sendek stepped down as head coach of the North Carolina State Wolfpack and accepted the head coaching job at Arizona State in 2006. In 2004, Sendek won ACC coach of the year. After only one season as head coach, Sendek has managed to bring in a high level of talent, including three McDonald's All-American Team selections that are expected to see considerable playing time beginning in the 2007-08 season. Sendek has also brought a "basketball atmosphere" and level of excitement to the campus that has been absent for decades. Before Sendek, Rob Evans led ASU to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2003. ASU made the Sweet 16 in the 1995 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Other tournament appearances include 1958, '61, '62, '63, '64, '73, '75, '80, and '81. There have been a total of 34 Sun Devils selected in the NBA Draft, notably Byron Scott, Lafayette Lever, Tommy Smith, Ike Diogu, and Eddie House.

Season Preview:
A year ago in this space, we wrote: It's post time for the Sun Devils. Another middle-of-the-pack finish isn't likely to be taken lightly in Tempe. Alas for Dirk Koetter and the majority of his staff, another middle-of-the-pack most certainly wasn't taken lightly by Arizona State Vice President of Athletics Lisa Love. Before the season ended, Koetter was informed he wouldn't return in 2007. He was, however, allowed to finish the season. And on Dec. 11, more than two weeks before ASU lost to Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl, a familiar name was tabbed the 22nd head coach in program history. Make no mistake, either, Dennis Erickson, who coached Miami to a pair of national titles in 1989 and '91, wasn't brought aboard for a rebuilding effort. Immediate results are ex-pected by one and all -- alumni, administration, fans, and most of all, Erickson himself.
