Stadium:
Groves Stadium
The home of Wake Forest Football is Groves Stadium, considered one of the most beautiful stadiums of its size in the nation. The facility, which celebrated its 35th season in 2002, underwent a $1.5 million refurbishing in recent years which added significantly to both its appearance and utility heading into the 21st century. Of course, the most obvious and striking improvement to the complex is Bridger Field House.

Season Preview:
The only red flag is the early schedule. The Deacons start with a road trip to Boston College, which figures to be jacked up under a new coach. Then, Nebraska visits for the home opener. Yes, Nebraska is playing at Wake Forest, something that would have been previously unheard of, maybe only a couple years ago. But this is a repayment for the Deacons' trip to Nebraska. If Wake survives this start, the schedule turns favorable with a veteran team. Eight starters return, led by QB Riley Skinner, who completed a stunning freshman season with amazing stats. The Deacons will likely open up their playbook even more, knowing Skinner has more experience and this team has veteran talent. This is where Wake Forest could be vulnerable. The Deacons will miss star S Josh Gattis and S Patrick McGhee. LB Jon Abbate, the team's emotional leader, also is gone. No worries here. PK/P Sam Swank is one of the nation's best dual-purpose kickers. He's a valuable weapon for field position and provides security on short field goals. CB Alphonso Smith is among the team's top special-teams tacklers, blockers and playmakers.
