Rose Bowl Stadium
The nation's most famous college football stadium - The Rose Bowl - has been the home of UCLA football since 1982. One of the finest football stadiums in America, the Rose Bowl was built specifically for football, but was used for portions of the 1932 Olympic Games, and was also the soccer site for the 1984 Olympics. The Rose Bowl has also been the site for four Super Bowls, the 1994 World Cup and the 1999 Women's World Cup. The Rose Bowl was completed in 1922 and was first used for the USC-California game that same year. Although the stadium has held well over 100,000 fans over the years, the current seating capacity is 91,136.

Season Preview:
UCLA's triumph over rival USC last season set the bar at an extremely high level. Add to that the fact that the Bruins enter the 2007 campaign with 20 starters, a favorable schedule, a good quarterback battle between Ben Olson and Patrick Cowan and a defense that shut down the explosive Trojans, and expectations might become astronomical. The Bruins have taken a step forward under coach Karl Dorrell, but with a 29-21 record and losses in three of four bowl games leaves UCLA with plenty to prove. UCLA has to decide between Ben Olson and Patrick Cowan as its starter at quarterback. The offense averaged 23 points and 330 yards per game last season and the Bruins will have a slightly different look with new offensive coordinator Jay Norvell looking to throw deep more often than UCLA did in the recent past. Still, look for TB Chris Markey and a talented stable of backs to become the centerpiece of the offense. UCLA has 10 senior starters slated to return, losing only Justin Hickman. The strength is up front, where Bruce Davis is back to wreak havoc for quarterbacks after notching 12 1/2 sacks a year ago. With pressure being supplied up front and all four defensive backs capable of a big play, this group bears watching. LB Christian Taylor could be a future star. He had 83 tackles and 13 1/2 tackles for losses. The Bruins ranked sixth nationally in sacks and fifth in tackles for losses. A reliable replacement for Justin Medlock didn't emerge in spring drills. UCLA is breathing a little easier knowing P Aaron Perez is back. He averaged 42.6 yards per boot a year ago. PKs Kai Forbath and Jimmy Rotstein are still going to need plenty of work in the fall. The return game, given the team's depth in the secondary and at running back, could be a weapon.
