It has a seating capacity of 68,532 (69,032 with Standing Room Only tickets). The stadium was named in June 2002 when Lincoln Financial Group paid $139.6 million for naming rights over the next 21 years. It is located in South Philadelphia on Pattison Avenue between 11th and 10th Streets, closer to the area's stretch of Interstate 95 than to Pattison.

Season Preview:
Temple has one win in the past two seasons, that coming under then-rookie coach Al Golden. The Owls shed their vagabond tag and trim Big East ties to join the Mid-American Conference, a tough league but one that is down a peg in caliber of competition from the Big East. Golden inherited a ridiculous schedule last season and the results were predictable. Now, the slate is a bit more manageable and Temple should be better. The Owls left spring ball with a battle for the starting quarterback spot -- between Adam DiMichele and Vaughn Charlton -- ongoing. Charlton had a better spring game, but that wasn't considered a serious advantage. Temple showed signs of offensive spark last year and won't be playing Louisville, Minnesota or Clemson, which should make things easier for the offense despite the loss of high-class lineman Elliott Seifert. When you give up 496 points in a season, there's nowhere to go but up. The Owls are a year older on defense and won't be playing some of the major-conference offenses they had to face a year ago. "We have a young group that includes only one senior," said coordinator Mark D'Onofrio. "Some of the young players need to develop into leaders that we will have for the next two or three years." The secondary is deep, with the emergence of Juco transfer Tommie Williams a highlight of the spring. As is the case in any scrimmage situation, coaches are pleased but concern at the same time. In the Temple spring game, Jake Brownell kicked a 40-yard field goal, but also had two kicks blocked. Golden made himself the special-teams coach as part of the restructuring of the staff. Brownell was an honorable mention freshman All-American last year and is also the favorite to punt. In the return game, Shelton, the most exciting player on the offense, would have ranked fifth nationally in kickoff returns (28.8 yards per try) but didn't play enough games to qualify for the NCAA leaders list.
