Stadium: Spartan Stadium
Spartan Stadium opened in 1923 in East Lansing, Michigan. It is primarily used for football, and is the home field of the Michigan State University Spartans. After the addition of luxury boxes and club seating in 2004-2005, the capacity of the stadium grew from 72,027 to 75,005, making it the Big Ten's fifth largest stadium. It is regarded as one of the loudest stadiums in college football. Its atmosphere has been described by ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit as a "snake pit." Spartan Stadium has been recognized as the 8th most scenic college football venue in the country.[

Season Preview:
Until Mark Dantonio proves he has changed the mentality, Michigan State is likely destined for another finish in the bottom half of the Big Ten standings. Dantonio is fighting to get the penalties under control and erase the memories of late-season collapses under John L. Smith, who failed to lead the Spartans to a bowl game in each of his last three seasons. Progress will likely be slow, until the defense can show dramatic signs of improvement. QB Brian Hoyer played well in short stretches last year, now the job is solely his. He'll have plenty of help from RB Javon Ringer, the leader of a three-headed attack that includes Jehuu Caulcrick and A.J. Jimmerson. Depth will be an issue on the offensive line, while T.J. Williams, Terry Love and Devin Thomas showed flashes in the spring of being productive receivers. Sir Darean Adams considered transferring after John L. Smith was fired, but instead quickly became a fan of Mark Dantonio's and decided to stay. He has now found a home at weakside linebacker with the elimination of the bandit position he held last year. Adams has the ability to go get the ball, which is what Dantonio preaches -- playing fast. Safety Otis Wiley is a leader in the secondary and will team with Nehemiah Warrick to give the Spartans two sound tacklers in the secondary. The recent problems have been the fact those two, and Adams, have been forced to make most of the tackles. Wiley led the team in tackles last year with 94. PK Brett Swenson struggled at times in the spring, but his 15-of-19 performance last year should delay any panic. The punting position could be a bigger problem, where Ed Wagner and Kevin Hall continue to struggle while battling to replace Brandon Fields.
