Stadium: Bill Snyder Family Stadium
Originally named KSU Stadium, the facility was built at a cost of $1.6 million and financed from student fees, athletics gate receipts and contributions. The stadium opened its doors Sept. 21, 1968, with a 21-0 shutout of Colorado State. The original seating capacity was set at 35,000, and an expansion in the summer of 1970 added 4,000 permanent bleachers on the east side and 3,000 temporary bleachers on the west side.

Season Preview:
Kansas State remains something of an enigma as Ron Prince heads into his second season as coach. The Wildcats exhibited enough toughness, and talent, to pull off an upset over Texas last season, yet were flattened by two teams they once dominated, Missouri and Kansas. Prince built a tough schedule, with trips to Auburn and Fresno State, to promote awareness of his program, but those could games could cost the Wildcats a bowl bid.. Everything revolves around QB Josh Freeman, the recruit who initially committed to Nebraska before Prince was hired and lured the Kansas City phenom to Kansas State. Still, others must perform for Freeman to develop after he was thrown in the fire as a true freshman. Better line play is key, and the Wildcats are expected to receive help in the fall for both that unit and their receiving corps. The changeover to a 3-4 scheme introduced by new defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar is designed to put the Wildcats in better position to cover the spread attacks that are so prevalent in college football. The early results were encouraging as defenders for the White squad in the Kansas State spring game completely smothered Freeman and limited two of the Wildcats' top receivers, Jordy Nelson and Daniel Gonzalez, to one catch apiece. Three return men who scored on kickoffs last season are back, yet Kansas State lost its most dangerous returner, Yamon Figurs. The search for a place-kicker will be extended into fall camp, with the favorite being Ohio transfer Brooks Rossman. Veteran P Tim Reyer pinned four punts inside the 10 in the spring game.
