Bronco Stadium
Bronco Stadium is the home of Boise State University football and the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl, held each December. The stadium was expanded to 30,000 seats prior to the start of the 1997 football season. The two-year expansion project raised the seating total from 22,600 to 30,000 seats. Included in the $10 million project is the additional seating in the southwest and southeast corners, construction of the Allen Noble Hall of fame gallery and completion of the Larry and Marianne Williams Plaza.

Season Preview:
Other than a hectic stretch in October (three games in 13 days) and road tests at Fresno State and Hawaii, the schedule is basically the same one the Broncos blitzed last season. Despite a new quarterback and new receivers on offense and new linebackers and tackles on defense, Boise State is poised to make a run at a sixth straight WAC title. The Broncos have faced major personnel overhauls on offense in previous seasons and still ended up piling up points. In fact, since 2000, no team has scored more points per game (41.7) than Boise State. As usual, success starts in the trenches. A veteran line is led by OLT Ryan Clady, a member of the Lombardi Award watch list and a quarterback's best friend at 6-6, 319. Quarterback is an open battle between Taylor Tharp and Bush Hamdan going into August, but Hamdan has the edge with his arm strength, mobility and leadership. All-American Ian Johnson (1,713 yards, 25 TDs) returns at tailback, but last year's top three receivers are gone. Multi-purpose threat Vinny Perretta could have a huge season catching and running the ball. Defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox knew his cupboard wasn't bare, despite losing a pair of playmaking linebackers, both tackles and a safety from the 2006-07 defense. "We had good players here last year that didn't play a lot because they had good guys in front of them," he said. "There's some talent there." There is experience at defensive end with Mike T. Williams and Nick Schlekeway, who sat out this spring with a broken foot, and in the secondary with S Marty Tadman and CBs Orlando Scandrick and Kyle Wilson. Linebacker remains a BSU strength with Kyle Gingg, David Shields, Tim Brady and Derrell Acrey leading a deep group. There are new faces in every key special-teams job, from kicker to punter to snapper to holder. Redshirt freshman Kyle Brotzman clinched his job by booming a 49-yard field goal in the spring game. He could also pull double duty as a punter if hyped freshman Brad Elkin falters in fall camp. Marty Tadman (8.9-yard average in 2006) is the most experienced punt returner and Rashaun Scott (20.1-yard average) is the incumbent kick returner, but special-teams coach Jeff Choate has plenty of other options in both roles.
